If you are thinking of downsizing and you have a pet that is causing you to think you have to wait, I have a solution for you!

As I walked past the pet store near International Village a few weeks ago, I was delighted to see a box of grass on display out front. Wierd, I know. But for a few years now since we downsized to a condo from a house with a big yard, I have had to listen to my husband complain about taking the dog out! He has suggested we get a harness and he could lower Lucy down from the balcony, all 17 stories! I have been meaning to look into the possibility of getting some grass in a box for the deck because we have tried all the other options, but I never got around to it. Mostly because I don't mind taking her out. But there are those days where the weather is abysmal and Lucy is even less impressed about going outside than I am. Well it was perfect timing because just after we ordered the Pet Pasture, we had a several days of heavy rain. She took to it right away. Lucy was happy and so was Ray!

Eva, the wonderful founder and CEO of Pet Pasture, is careful to point out that Pet Pasture is not intended as a substitue for walks; dogs need the regular stimulus provided by walking, and makring territory, in different environments. But, Pet Pasture is great for those days when you are in a hurry and don't have time for the elevator ride and the trip to the park or when it's pouring rain. And though we haven't had any problems yet, Lucy is almost 14 years old and I suspect the time is coming that it may become more difficult for her to wait to go out to do her business. The Pet Pasture has made condo living a little more comfortable for Lucy and for us. It's affordable, convenient (with delivery and pick up options available), and environmentally friendly.
